How to Create A Fairy Friendly Garden
Do you believe in fairys? Well whether you do or you don’t Fairy gardens are becoming increasingly popular and can either be designed as miniature gardens for the fairys or your own garden which is planted and designed to attract benevolent fairy spirits.
The first thing to remember is that your garden MUST be eco-friendly and preferably organic, it should be a haven for wild life to include bees, birds and bugs etc. Fairy’s are the protectors of wildlife and plants and will appreciate this.
Don’t worry if you don’t have an actual garden, you can plant a fairy garden in a tub on a balcony or in traditional window boxes. Just adapt to miniature and keep to small flowers and herbs.
Plant flowers which attract wild life and fairies. Ladybirds, Bumble Bees, Hedgehogs, Squirrels and Butterflies are all loved by the fairy folk:
Some ideas for planting to attract the Fairys ….Roses, Primroses, Bluebells, Forget Me Nots, Pansy, Buddleia, Lilac, Snapdragons, Buttercups, Snowdrops, Daisy’s, Periwinkle, Peonies, Honeysuckle, Tulips, Mallow, Violets, these are just a few, there are many more flowers that the Fairys will love.
Herbs for Fairy Gardens : Rosemary, Thyme, Parsley, Sage.
If you have the space: Tree and shrubs to plant: Holly, Hawthorn, Rock Rose, Oak, Apple, Elder. You will need a lot of space for Oak and Elder.
Fill your garden with bird houses, bird baths, fairy lights, bee houses, (these can be purchased at your local garden centre.) here is how to make your own if you're handy
Upturned terracotta pots make great havens for wildlife, hedgehogs etc and the Fairys themselves.
Allow your Fairy garden to be a little wild and natural! Fairies don’t like manicured lawns and a few weeds and snails should be made welcome.
Remember to have fun and let your imagination run wild when planning your fairy garden. Place pretty sparkly things such as glass balls, shells and things that catch the light in your garden. Make a little fairy path with tiny pebbles and place a dish, saucer, or large abalone shell filled with water to act as a fairy pond. Place enchanted mushrooms in your fairy garden, this gives the fairys a resting place and shelter, they love toadstools and place fairy figurines in amongst the flowers and fauna to make the fairies feel at home. You may also like to place a fairy door by a tree trunk if you are lucky enough to have a tree or two in your garden, these act as fairy portals and are also an enchanting touch for children.
Leave gifts for the fairys, milk and honey, crystals and glass pebbles will be welcome. Add sound colour and fragrance to your garden with running water features, pretty wind chimes, scented flowers. We light whole bunches of incense sticks and push them straight into our garden flower pots or straight into the earth to fill the air with fragrance.
We have added so many beautiful new Fairys to our Fairy collections thsi week, some will be the choice for your unique Fairy gardens. enjoy browsing and making your garden. Who knows you may even attract a Unicorn...............................................................

Wow, what a beautiful collection of fairy figurines :). I am definitely a believer in fairies, though not only of those who are kindly inclined :). Having spent a good deal of time researching them, I know better than to think they are all sweetness and light.
Om Shanti,
