So what exactly is a salt lamp?
Salt lamps are crafted from salt crystals, mined from the foot of the Himalayan mountains, roughly chiselled and sometimes carved into smooth shapes then hollowed out and fitted with bulbs and plugs. They are also carved into candle holders and large salt chunks are added to iron basket lamps.
These salt crystals have formed naturally over hundreds of millions of years!
When the lamp is switched on the warmth of the low watt bulb heats the salt which helps in releasing the negative ions.
There are hundreds of people who praise the health benefits of salt lamps which are said to produce negative ions, these negative ions are useful in combating the positive ions, or air pollutants created by electrical equipment that we are surrounded by every day.
