Black Obsidian Scrying Mirrors Back In Stock!

We have managed to source just a few Obsidian Scrying Mirrors, Black Obsidian Scrying Mirror   here at   Moondust And Angels  also known as Magic Mirrors, they are one of the most sought after scrying tools for divination due to their renowned protective and grounding energy.   


Scrying is an ancient art of divination. Also known as 'gazing' and 'seeing' Black Obsidian is a perfect tool for scrying as it a highly protective and grounding stone, the mirrrors are formed from solid slabs of authentic Obsidian they are polished both sides and all of our magic mirrors are basically circular, although this is a completely natural product therefore not all are necessarily perfectly round. We have several Obsidian magic mirrors in stock now. These are the most sought after mirrors for scrying. They are excellent tools for vision quests and in encouraging dreams that reveal. They are authentic Obsidian, polished both sides and very tactile. They are approximately 4" across so sit nicely in the hands or you may prefer to place them on a stand.  



The art of Scrying is centuries old and has been used historically right up to the present day by many different cultures, it was also a form of divination used by the famous Dr John Dee the astrologer and physician to the Tudor Queen, Elizabeth 1.

John Dee devoted most of his life to Hermetic Philosophy, Alchemy and Divination. It is believed that he would use black obsidian for scrying and divination.

Black Obsidian is regarded by many as the superior tool for scrying practise.

You will discover through practise which is the best method for you.



Scrying is actually a 'magical practise', any reflective surface can be employed, the use of a dark surface is advised as this reduces distractions. Scrying is difficult and takes a lot of practise and concentration which should not to be underestimated.

Crystals are commonly used for scrying including natural crystal balls, quartz, obsidian etc.

Hydromancy is the practise of scrying which uses water in a black or non reflective bowl


Scrying is a form of meditation, the person will enter a trance like state in time and with concentration. Many people scry as a solitary practise and the time spent can vary from minutes to hours .

Relaxation is key, creating a sacred space is also very important, clear or cleanse the object to be used

Actually having a focus and an intention is helpful, asking spirit guides for guidance and protection is also helpful and it is imortant that any scrying tool, mirror, crystal balls, bowls, etc are cleansed of any residual negative energies before beginning.

Steps to good scrying sessions:

1. Cleanse your space and mirrror.
Try to practise scrying at night, it is a practise closely associated to the Moon it also helps to have few distractions as mentioned before and try to avoid distractions such as phone calls. The time of the full moon is said to create stronger visions

2 Ground yourself and psychicly protect yourself. 

 3. Look 'through' the scrying mirror rather than 'at' it, don't stop yourself from blinking, just relax and allow you mind to wander, staring steadily into the surface.

4. Limit your session to a set time, try not to prolong it too much, say 10 to 15 minutes at first and then build up to longer sessions when you feel ready

5.Keep a journal for scrying and make notes in it when you feel you have seen or perceived in some way a vision of some kind. They make come through as thoughts, colours, images, feelings
